It will need the climate enabling to allow the heater to run remote of the engine yes , I can do this for you and fit the heater controller if you wish , just down the road in Staffs. Altox GSM FBH controller thread

If anyone is thinking of doing the remote FBH thing..... don't think, just do It was easy to fit but Bodsy will do that for you too if you aren't sure.2012 D4 HSE - yay!

May be a silly question but how do you know if this is fitted to a D3 was it an optional extra?

It was never an option for remote on a D3.
I have remote controllers for the D3 so you can have it added no problem.
