Fuel Filler Cap hands Free Function

Don't know weather anyone else has discovered this but I believe it to be one of the greatest features of my Discovery.

The fuel filler cap fits 99% of petrol pump handles and eliminates the need to hold the thing. I like this as I seem to spend lots of my time filling up. Thumbs Up

For those with out disco 3 try Nokia 6230 - There are some H and S people that my well see this as dangerous but hey you can switch the phone off.

Note: it can jump out and can be fiddly to set up first off but once you have done it a few times you won't know what to do with the extra time.

Regards
Will

I'm probably being a bit simple but how does using the filler cap give you the option to go hands free on the pump?

My local Shell garage also has attendant fill up most of the time. If you are lucky, they'll also clean the windscreen! Thumbs Up

On my key-ring - out of 2mm s/s wire (next to the pipe tamper made from a 6" nail) {and the Swiss Army knife for carrying out full D3 Service...}:-

That would bring tears to your eyes if the key ring was in your front trouser pockets and the pointy thing was aiming the wrong way when sitting down!!! Shocked Shocked

Embarassed You called?

Actually, I've had one of these over 30 years, without a problem... Maybe should not have said that!

Where do you put the allen key to get it to hold the handle up? I have noticed before the little clip on the handle is disabled by a screw, preventing the proper way to do this

Back of the handle, two holes. Put through there and pull catch on handle forwards which then clips over the allen key and gives you hands free! Or just stuff the filler cap in the handle, with lugs in a vertical orientation to maximise fuel delivery! Great! Thumbs Up
