Hi there,
I put my disco3 into a non LR garage for the first time for a service as I live 3 hours away from the nearest dealership. When it came out it wasn't running properly but only intermittently. It was lumpy and has top end loss of power. If I lived somewhere flat it wouldn't be as bad but as soon as I encounter a hill I have to change down to 3rd before the engine revives.
I feel it must be something related to the service and I wonder if the fuel filter connections could have been put on wrongly although I don't see how that could have produced an intermittent fault. However it is not intermittent now and hasn't been for several weeks.
Please can anyone help with this? Does anyone know the correct placing of the coloured connectors?
Hi again,
Found the cause of the problem. Apparently changing thr fuel filter can cause the egr valves to go. Great having spent all that on a service. Egr valves now blanked off.

The pipes have a clip which hold the pipes in place when they are removed from the filter
Take it back to them

Could be the famous egr valves. I suppose because you live so far from the garage, you could try blanking them off with a 2 pence piece. It would prove to you that they are at fault.
Then you can decide to change them, or just leave the 2p's in place?

Hi Matt, thanks for that, we did replace the fuel filter ourselves this weekend but there are 2 small connections and 2 larger connections. We don't know if they were connected correcctly in the first place or whether the garage swapped them round without realising. If we took it back I guess they wouldn't know either.

Hi Gareth
Thanks, have had the egr valves replaced 12 months ago, thought they must be infamous as they were as rare as hen's teeth and my disco was in the dealership for 2 weeks. Didn't knoe you could blank them off will try that thanks.
Hi Wiggs,
Thanks for the link, have printed it for my friend.
