Fuel filter Discovery 4 location and service interval?

Dear all,

Where is the fuel filter located on a land rover discovery 4 3 litre diesel TDV6 HSE?

What is the service interval for its replacement? Little info in handbook.

Any special tool needed to remove fuel filter.

Hi Matt
The fuel filter is located underneath the vehicle on the OS just in front of the tank. You will need the gearbox undertray off and there is a guard / heatshield that needs to be removed.
LR service schedules state it should be changed every 2 years regardless of mileage.
Thanks

h well, true to LR engineering it would have to be in the most stupid place possible. I am surprised they didn't require engine removal...

Designed and built by Ford and it is a brilliant engine no doubt but the maintenance team can't have been contacted until afterwards. Bit like the 300D in the Disco2 - changing the head was easy except for one bolt which could not be removed without MAJOR effort because the body blocked for some unknown reason.

Love the car but I would have put all the filters under the bonnet - no reason why not.

I agree. Not only is it in a stupid place for access but prepare to get half a gallon of diesel in your eyes/coat/hair/girlfriend's parents house weeks later as it is above you.
