Could my fuel gauge need calibrating? Today gauge read empty (no light though) showing 48 miles left in the tank and at the pump could only get 66 litres in before it was full.
On every occasion since I have had it never got more than 66/7 litres in, doing just shy of 22 to the gallon. Journeys mainly short and occasionally towing livestock trailer, so consumption fair. Doesn't help that I can't help keep putting my foot down - it pulls like a steam train

That sounds very similar to mine. It doesn't bother me though.

The fuel gauge does only appear to be a rough guide as to what is in the tank. Mine has several times gone below empty on the gauge without the light coming on. When the light has come on it seems that I can only put in @65 Ltrs.
I have had the situation when I noticed that the gauge was gettting near to empty, with no light but took 75 Ltrs.
I always use the same garage and fuel pump which seems to be quite level???
So I now use a system of guesstimation, Astrology and tarot reading to see if I need to refuel.
Wifes Audi, is very accurate with how much is left in the tank with no miles left till empty on the computer, had to put in 63.75 Ltrs which only left 1.25.
I don't think i would be able to trust the D4 computer to this extent !!
