Fuel Octane

I have a V8 D3 and I have been using 98 octane but it is getting quite expensive (±$1.45/litre) Crying or Very sad Is there any benefit in using 98 octane instead of the Premium 95 octane fuel which costs substantially less (± $1.30).

Any advice would be welcome Thumbs Up

They're huge differences in price for your 98 vs 95 ............ it's 4c here.
I've always use 98 in all petrol equipment ,since it
first became available . It's the rating of old lead super.
You can tell the difference in cars , but not a 2500kg
4x4 . Is the the cost per year going to matter really?
If you do down-grade , then don't mix and match at
the whim of price bacause the anti-knock sensor won't
like it .

Hi Neil

I have just checked FuelWatch and the difference at my local petrol station is only 5 cents today. Maybe you are right and I should just use 98RON Whistle
Thanks Doc
