Fuel pump

Hi all

Close to desperation... The Webasto won't fire up, whatever I try.

GAP-IID tool:
- Fuel pump works (you hear the ticking sound & diesel comes out the tube that feeds the Webasto. Tested this with the primer procedure;
- Testing procedure: doens't heat up properly, just gets warm, but nevertheless completes the sequence and says the routine was succesfull;

WTT-software:
- Every individual component (exc. the fuel pump) works and can be tested;
- The fuel pump won't work with the testing procedure on the WTT-software;
- Doing a test routine and the cooling-down immediately starts: the WBH won't fire up

Readout gives this:
Fault 1: Metering pump interruption
State of fault: stored, actual
Code: 88h

Other stuff I did=
Reset by removal of the fuse: about 20 times
Keep firing it up with the IID-tool in the hope it will 'repair itself': about 10 times

I'm through my options here. Gone through all of the subjects and Robbies guide, but I can't seem to find a solution for this particular issue.

An answer or a link to a thread that has the solution would be helpful !

Thank you
Raf

I feel your pain! These are fantastic bits of kit and deeply frustrating, in equal measure.

The GAP Tool auxiliary heater test procedure times-out at a maximum of 300 seconds, which is not long enough for the FBH to really get up to temperature. I'm also not sure if it does the glow-plugs-on regime at shut down, which a working FBH does to burn off any residual fuel/soot at the end of the cycle.

I seem to remember having to clear the error codes on the WTT software before I could get mine to work on the WTT test routine. Fuse removal alone isn't enough to clear all the Webasto codes.

Having got mine to work on WTT Test and GAP test, it still wouldn't reliably fire-up on its own on cold mornings. I resorted to a timer and remote from eBay and it's been great ever since.

Others have reported good results from increasing the intake air-flow rate.

Thx - I’ve resetted faults theough the WTT-software, as well as the reset with the fuse, and through the IID-tool. Numerous times, but it won’t kick in.

Is there another way to perform a hard reset of the FBh, other than through the WTT-software ?

Also unplugged all the wiring of the FBH for 15 minutes.
