Fuel rail pressure sensor?
My car was running perfectly Sunday eve when I used it. Monday morning, got in to go to work, started fine, then all the messages! No HDC, Hand Brake Fault, Suspension Lowering, and an engine light.
Put the IId on, and apart from all the U codes, the only real clue is -
P0191-24 (2F) Fuel rail pressure sensor range/performance - General signal failure - signal stays high
Had a search on here, and there are some posts over the years, but no definitive fix as far as I can see? Seems you can't buy the the sensor separately from the fuel rail (genuine) but I followed the links to bEay sites selling the sensor only. I've bought one for £38, so when it turns up I'll give it a try.
Somehow I'm not convinced this will fix it though. Of course, sensors can fail. And they can fail from working perfectly to not working at all. But I still don't feel this is the fix.
I hope I'm wrong! Richard

You need to check the fuel system out, when did you last change the fuel filter, check the low pressure pump, but your error is most likley the HPFP if the sensor does not cure it.

Thanks Flack.
Changed the fuel filter in December. Genuine LR filter. Would have done fewer than 2000 miles since.Richard

Got my bEay special fuel rail pressure sensor, delivered to the office this morning. I'll give it a whirl later and see if it fixes the issue.
Sweepstake on it not working?! Richard

Well that's odd. I just went out to change the fuel rail pressure sensor, thought I'd just start it to check the error is still there, and guess what - no fault!
Scanned, no codes. all works fine. So I guess I'll keep the new sensor in the car 'just in case' and see what happens!
