Fuses

Right I just uprated my S loom to HSE and I have some questions.
Everything works except I have no power to fuse 57 or 58, well I have16mv with engine running and 10mv when not.
All other fuses are working fine I.e 42, 52 and 53.
I’ve checked F18 and F17 in the engine bay and all good.
As for the relay R5(bottom right) I’m also getting power. I’ve heard there’s a different relay or something for the different multimedia....

I have no power at the amp side but the fuse is ok. Checked the plug where the fuse goes into the loom and no power there either.
Fibre Optics has the red light coming from the stereo into the amp.
Does this I have to trace the wire back and take the dash back out Big Cry

Volume button doesn’t want to do anything either but I’m assuming that could be because there’s no power to the amp??

I am officially at a loss because I’ve driven it. It’s just fuses 57 and 58 and no power to the amp Big Cry Big Cry

When you power the head unit on the relay should click

Cut wires could be Mic or phone

what should happen is that the headunit should power up. This then puts an earth signal on the red/blue wire, which makes the relay click and powers up the antenna amplifer and fuses 57,58

Is the radio display coming on? If not check it has power on the thick wire

Previous owner did have a parrot installed.

Yeh there’s some clicking down there and I can feel it ‘click’ when ignition is switched on

So could it be the antenna then?

Pete- I have power on 53 and power at F18 in the engine bay

The radio had its moments when I could be listening to it with a good signal and then all of a sudden it’ll say ‘searching’ randomly.

All i can say is disconnect the large radio plug.

put a link between the thin red/blue wire and ground.
The relay should click.

See if you have power on the fuses 57 or 58
and see if you have power at the amp.

If it's improved things, probably head unit at fault
If it’s still bad there maybe a fault with the wiring between head unit and fuse box.

Or as you had reception problems before, maybe an internal fault with cjb.
You could bodge it taking a feed from rear? cigar lighter to amp

We do mean this plug right?

Because I’ve just checked the voltage from both, red and blue, and they are only putting out 5mV
I did link both together and earthed but nothing.

You shouldn’t be lookin for power

It’s the blue one that is of interest. Connect it to black.

I’m surprised to see all those green wires if you have replaced the loom

It’s a good job the looms coming this weekend lol

Nope I’ve bridged the blue with the black and nothing from the relay.
