Gallery Pressure and Alternator Voltage?

Hi.

Can anyone advise as to what these values should be?

Gallery Pressure. With engine off. And with engine running perhaps lifting up to off road level. kPa is the unit I'm reading.

Alternator voltage. What range is acceptable?

Thanks in advance.

Adri

Gallery press should be near to 0 in order to permit a safe restart of the compressor when needed, usually it drops to 0 few seconds after compressor has fully charged the air reservoir,

the alternator voltage is variable and commanded from engine ecu in function of external temperature, battery voltage and time lapsed from start

Thx

Gallery Pressure on mine starts at around 98kPa and then shoots up to something like 1400kPa so that sounds OK to me.

Alternator is giving a consistent 13.9v on a short run I just monitored.

I'm getting paranoid about this car now...it's going to start waking me in a cold sweat at night...

Just part of being a D3 owner of course...

Alternator voltage? Anyone? Is 13.9v about right? I know there's a management system on there but does 13.9v sound OK or indicating problems?

Cheers

From a cold start you should see voltage in the region of 14.5v or slightly higher. As the engine warms up the voltage will drop back to 14.1. You're a tad low but what's your issue?

The issue is I've just fitted a recon denso alternator and I'm just wanting to make sure it's doing it's job. Can't afford new on everything this car desires so I have to take the odd risk...oooer!!

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it too much as ambient temperature plays a part also. 13.9v should be fine with a strong battery. If the alternator is not man enough you'll soon know about it Laughing

Hi, I was worrying about our car as is charges at idle at 13.9v like yours and it only does short journeys so I bought a ctek charger to top it up and it showed the battery was pretty much fully charged. I wouldn’t worry,
