Gearbox
If I park the car up on an incline when I select drive from park I get a metallic clunk and the selector feels as if it is locked. Suggestions D4 3.0 SDV6 GS 13

Do you use the EPB? Only ask because it sounds like the car is resting on the park 'locking pin', (not sure what it's called). I'm under the impression it's a physical pin which locks the gearbox. I presumed the clunk was as this is disengaged when the weight of the car is resting on it?

What crews control says sounds spot on
(It is called a Pawl Pin).
If I'm parking on enough of a slope to cause it to rest of the pawl pin, then I always use the EPB. My usual routine is to apply the footbrake, stick it in "N", apply the EPB and then release the foot brake until the EPB takes the strain. I then stick it into "P".
This eliminates any pressure on the pawl pin and avoids the stiffness/clunking when you move from P to D.
