Gearbox Fault?

Hi.. I've had my 14 HSE for a week now and was just wondering if this is normal ?

Sometimes when parking on my drive or in a carpark, when i try to switch to Reverse the dial only switches between S and D for a second or 2...
I't has happened a couple of times now i think its when switching from S to R
Not sure if its happened from D to R.

Cheers for any help.

Gary.

Hi Gary,

Can you describe more about what you are doing? Are you saying that you have the gearbox in Sport mode when you are parking? Does the gear selector turn but the gearbox not change?

The gear selector works by simply turning the knob from Park to Reverse, Neutral or Drive. You should be able to select each of these just by turning the knob. To get from Drive to Sport you have to push the knob down and turn it. When it is in Sport mode you then turn it normally back to Drive, but it will not turn any further until it has 'popped' up from the down position it was in for Sport. Once it is in Drive again you can select Neutral, Reverse and Park with a simple turn.

Andy.

AAAhh....

Thanks Andy... the last bit of what you said seems to describe it.

You can switch from S to D and back but it won't go any further till it "pops" back up.

Thank you. Thumbs Up
