Gearbox noise, TC or mech unit?
I fitted a second hand gearbox not so long ago (old one had a TC vibration and one at 40mph)
New gearbox has cured the vibration at 40 and the vibration from the TC but now I have a noise like 2 metal plates grinding against eachother when I come off the throttle, or when I'm under very very light loads.
I have a spare mechatronic unit from the old box still that I have debated fitting in, incase the valves are sticking.
Sound like a possible cause or is it the TC on its way out again ðŸ˜

There is nothing on the valve body that can make noise, even the solenoids wouldn't be noticeable so swapping the mechatronic wont solve anything.

im desperetly trying to avoid the full overhauled gearbox price so im trying to be 100% sure its just the TC and not the g/gox itself.
i do alot of "slow" driving while im out pest controlling, i have also noticed that if im just idleing along in 1st, often down hill, i will get almost a jolt as though its trying to shift down a gear.
if i change the TC is there anything else worth changing while im there, i hear reports of input shafts wearing too so is it worth changing this along the way?
