So I'm slowly (and i mean slowly) putting my D3 back together, i brought it as a non runner with a snapped crank so no idea of any original faults this car may have had.
I had to replace the transfer box ecu as it was green in the connector area, some of the pins were so corroded at the base they were attached by a hairs width of metal, and i was getting no comms with the idd tool (plus nothing worked). Fitted a new ECU suspension, gears ect all worked and no flashing lights on the dash, this was about a month ago.
so put a few more bits back on, mainly the rear bumper and light clusters and a new PAS pump. started her up and i get a very fast beeping, with hi/low range flashing on the console and the green low light with the orange hdc light flashing on the dash.
fault codes are:
P0915-00 (2F) Gearshift position - circuit range/performance
and
U1A35-4A (2F) VIN data - System internal failure - incorrect component installed
now i knew i would get a VIN error by fitting the different ECU, but didn't think that would stop it working. I cant get the position fault to clear, i tried a calibration via the iid tool but i can't select low/high range because all its doing is flashing at me. tried a hard reset still no joy.
confusing me as it was working, well it wasnt making those noises or the flashing lights when i first changed the ecu, and i could select hi/low that i now cant.
any ideas? have i got another duff ECU

First of all, you need to reflash the TCCM firmware before it will attempt a calibration procedure
The position fault (assuming it's a manual car) will be a gear calibration, or Auto firmware installed, both easily resolved
The rapid beeping sounds like the EPB registering a fault. Sometimes, you get away with applying and releasing the EPB to "reset" itself My D3 Build Thread

I couldn’t find the option to flash the TCCM, I flashed the 07+ firmware and the BCM and the fault was still there, the only other option I saw was fo the suspension, is it in a different menu?
My car is an auto, so maybe if has manual firmware installed?
Regarding the EPB, that’s very strange, I pulled the fuse for the EPB ages ago as I need to sort the rears out ( the module had jammed) and haven’t put the fuse back in since I freed it off as I haven’t adjusted the drums yet. Never had the fast beeps until now though, I thought the beeps might be todo with the flashing lights and lack of hi/low selection.

ah, I just read the manual for the IID tool, I'm guessing I have to buy the TransferBox ecu update from GAP

All fixed.
My firmware was all good when I went to buy the flash from GAP, they told me to just try the calibrations several times as sometimes it doesn't work, and like magic on the 3rd attempt all the beeps and flashy lights stopped.

Just wondering if anyone has advice for clearing a P0915-00 (2F) gearshift position - circuit range/performance fault? Im just waiting for a new transfer case shift motor to arrive as my old one wore out the gear well and failed (originaly that fault gave a P186D-00 (28) Clutch actuator stuck code), however during the fault finding process I attempted to check the clutch calibration and thats when the P0915-00 code came up. So far attempting to clear with the IID tool and hard reset have failed to clear it. Hopefully once the new shift motor is in it clears.

How did you get on in the end?
I've got the p0915-00 fault which then gives off a U0402 no comms and a p0700 mil request light.
So far if I clear the P0915 fault then the MIL disappears and car drives normal Silver MY10 D4
