General AT2

hi all, im considering changing the boots on my d3 for the 255 55 18 general grabber at2,

i was wondering if any of you who currently run this tyre would be kind enough to put a pic of your tyres on this post for me to see how they look on the vehicle.

I would be much obliged if somone would!

i have had general grabber on my td5 defender and to say the least i was not that impressed, the bf goodrich was much better in performance. I found the general grabber to be very hard wearing, covering 30k and only down to 8mm on all corners. if any one is running bfgoodies on the 18 in rim could you let me know what size and if there are any problems with rubbing?

Many thanks.

I have them fitted.......have a look in my gallery, there are some photos, but not any real close up. Good tyres though, and they seem to last well Thumbs Up

The size you require is 255/60x18, the 255/55x18 is a little to small.

We have sold hundreds of General AT2's in all sizes with no negative feed back, not uncommon to see 30K plus miles out of them.

You state that you have Grabbers on your Defender, but standard fitment is the 235/85x16 TR not the AT2, if thats the case these are different tyres.

The General AT2's suite the D3 very well, just take a look at all the threads on the web.

Andy.

thanks

AJS 4x4 - Thanks for the sound comments, your spot on with the size, my mistake. Bow down Bow down

As for the defender your right again, Bow down i wasnt sure if they where the same tread pattern as the pic i saw on generals website. the defender ones are quite rightly as you have stated the 235 85 /16 TR not AT's

I was wondering why i was the only person thinking that the generals where not all that good, Question thats because im on about a different tyre! Embarassed

A Big thanks to NJF, Now thats what i call a picture of a tyre! Shocked Shocked

To me the AT2 in that pic resembles very closely the bfgoodies pattern. much more like it, the TR's on the defender seem to get cloged very quickly and dont seem to unclog much at all. they did however last for ever!

Well it looks like the AT2's are my best bet, thanks again for the very quick responses everyone!

That sorts that out then! Mr. Green

TRs on our Defender, but for some reason they fitted an AT2 to the spare Thud

May be tempted back to AT2s for the D3 when they come out in 19" Thumbs Up
