Genuine cheap side steps

For info - I bought a pair of side steps here on ebay - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/m-j-fews-land-rover-parts

£293.00 inc vat and delivery.

Received 1st class service, would recommend them to other Disco3.co.uk members.

Have you installed them yet? Question The items in the picture are NOT Disco3 side steps, but the text does mention the correct part number.

Good luck!!

Yeah. I think the steps shown are the range rover ones. I contacted him to ask if the part no. was right - got an instant reply that it was. Ordered Friday p.m, received Monday a.m. Totally genuine, sealed in box. I think they're a main dealer. Fitted in about two hours.

Check out http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3523

I only fitted them after I read this excellent thread. Cutting of the sill is involved, but is fairly easy. The cut sill is totally out of sight after fitting.

All bolt holes already present, so no drilling of the car involved (thank goodness). Trickiest bit is removing the sills. Two difficult screws to reach in rear wheel arch (even a stubby won't do it with wheel in place. I used an Ikea S shaped screwdriver!). I didn't use plastic spatula (see thread) to remove sill, I just pulled it off by hand ( Embarassed should have phrased that better!).

Only other point - when you fit the brackets, you tighten them using the bolts on the side of the car, then put on sill, then fit bolts under the car. Make sure the bolts under the car line up with the bolt holes before you put the sill on, or you'll need to remove it again.

All that said, its easier than it sounds!! Good luck.
