Where to get parts for DIY loom

Hi all,

I am going to install the Webasto timer in our D3 so that I'll be ready for the winter. Can't stop thinking ahead Razz .

I want everything to look good so I'm trying to find the black ribbed plastic tube that all OEM wires are in. See the below picture I took from Iain G.'s gallery. Not this whole loom but just the thick black ribbed tube aroud the wires that provides extra protection as well as make it look neat and tidy.

,

The local car parts stores don't sell it and have no idea.... There is some tubing in the DIY stores used for house electric wire or to protect water pipes in walls, but those are a bit too thick. Any idea where to get this from?

Thanks, Paul

I have ordered on-line from this place before, and they are very good.

I've bought it off eBay before now, do a search for 'convoluted tube', it comes in various sizes and available split or non-split.

I've used Vehicle Wiring Products with no problems. Not sure about delivery outside of the UK, though. As CFB says, "convoluted tube" is what you're after.

I’ve used vehicle wiring products extensively in the past and can confirm they give an excellent service.

I’m sure they do deliver outside the UK.

Thanks all for your tips. The websites indicated do indeed ship to The Netherlands so I'll get the convoluted tube from them.

Great help, regards, Paul
