Just in case anyone else is wondering about the 255 55 20 size (as I was) I thought I’d update this thread with mine. I changed from 275 45 21 to 255 55 20, approximately the same height but with a taller side wall than standard. Ride and handling seams fine and they have a more purposeful look IMO

Hello,
Do you have rub with 255/55/20? Do you have done any modifications with the height?
Thanks

I had a set of GG AT3 that were on new Defender 20" rims, took them off my D5 and they looked great and were very comfy as they were 255 55 20.
However, as my D4 is a late model and apparently has an extra chassis leg behind the front wheels, they rubbed on there and the front wheel arch liners. Such a shame. I'm not willing to start cutting bits off the car just to fit some tyres.
So I sold the tyres and put stock 255 50 20 on for summer use and bought a set of 19" alloys. At the moment I'm running GG AT3 255 55 19 and they run very well.
Think this is my third set of GG AT3 now. Much prefer them to the Duratracs I had (2 sets of those)

I would always go with the tyres with the highest profile, rather than greatest width.

I've had these on for the last year (AT 255/55/20) but I don't know what 'version' they are. At motorway speeds they are exceptionally quiet, except on the south-side of the M25 where it sounds like you are being chased by a giant duck slapping its feet behind you!
Would buy again except I keep seeing that the Scorpion Zero's are better in the wet and 4db quieter with MUCH better fuel economy but if I go off-piste will I slide-off the trail? That being said I don't think there is a 'perfect' tyre as it all depends what qualities are important to you. I think i'll stick with these as i'm very happy with them and don't really want to spank over two hundred notes per corner to find out I've made a mistake...
