Tried the AT3s on light snow and ice in Scotland this week and they handled it with no issues at all

Agree that they get the car quite a lot dirtier than other tyres, but I don't wash it anyway so not a problem really

Had a full new set of AT3’s on since a few weeks before Christmas from AJS and they are much better than the AT2’s I’ve had previously, and have performed really well in a mixture of conditions. Very happy with the purchase 😁RLD CB Bracket

Despite my other thread about how well the current factory fit Scorpions have performed in the recent snow I am feeling a pull towards the GG AT3.
- If I go for the 255/55/20 I am thinking I will be saving money on alloy refurbs
- They look like they will deal better with occasional off road
However, I have a few concerns, any thoughts or opinions really appreciated:
- Will the higher profile be an issue - Am I likely to be getting a speeding ticket using cruise control?
- On some websites they refer to the GG AT3 as a summer tyre yet on others they say all season - are there two different versions that I need to be aware of?
- I was a bit disappointed to see the AT3 are only awarded an "E" for stopping performance in the wet vs "C" on Pirelli Verdi All Season - thats a 6m stopping distance difference or two average car lengths I believe
As I do the bulk of my driving on the motorway should I resist the pull towards the AT3 and just stick with the tried and tested Pirelli
HELP

I’m similar in that I do mainly motorway mileage (60 mile commute a day) and yeah the AT3’s aren’t the best, super quiet road tyres, but I’ve found them near enough no different to Scorpion’s. Noise is similar and I haven’t felt any noticeable difference in traction on wet roads and such. I also believe, but haven’t checked, the AT3’s have a snow flake winter rating so certainly aren’t summer tyres. In all the snow recently they have performed great and really great traction.
If you’re getting 20’s you’d be better with 255/50’s, if they do them, for better matching of rotational size.RLD CB Bracket

When I got mine no one could come near AJS price wise, and that included posting.
Albeit I was about £10 fitted and balanced over and above but still saved the price of a tyre + on my set of 5
This is the second set of tyres I've bought from Andy and would happily do so again when I need more

A little feedback on the 255/55x20 General AT3.
The extra height will hardy effect your speedo.
Only down side is fitment of the spare which is very tight in the wheel well. (Disco 3/4)
They are winter rated with the Snowflake and Mountain on the sidewall, so legal in Europe where required.
Having now done a little over 25,000 miles on the AT3 in all weathers i genuinely can't fault them.
I don't agree with the stopping distance rating at all, never had a problem even when towing heavy loads.
Fuel consumption is not something i worry about but not seen any increase that stands out.
We have NOT had any negative feedback so far, only huge praise.
Feel free to call and discuss any other questions.

Thanks for the info Andy
A couple of questions:
Are the 255/55/20 only available in speed rating H?
Have they sorted the rim wear / damage issues?
Thanks!

I had the gg at3 tyres on my disco 2 for a few months and they were great. Then i bought a d4 and it has 19 inch alloys. I really want the at3 on my d4. Should i buy 18 inch alloys and fit my nearly new tyres or buy new 19inch tyres and sell my 18 inch wheel tyre combos? I just cant make my mind up!?Good bye untrusted p38
