Good luck in the new job

Hi all

I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing David from Microsoft Windows Virus Protection the very best for his new role with Accident Claims Direct. Although he hung up on me after 10 minutes when he couldn’t find my made-up Bentley Continental to match my made-up accident.

I always take the view that the more minutes I keep the cnutes occupied with my strange stories, the less time they have to call someone who might be bothered by their calls.

Me too. Although I may have over-egged it with one of my legs being 12 inches shorter than the other after the accident, meaning I could only walk round hills in one direction.

I did once ask ‘David’ to spell his name, so I knew if he was using the English spelling or the Welsh.

I once had a cold call offering advice on an investment opportunity. I’m sure we’ve all had them.
When I declined the guy said I’m not surprised as all northerners are too thick to understand a golden opportunity when they see one.
Being in the Midlands I asked him to define what he consider northern and his response….
Anyone living in that part of the country that voted brexit and therefore caused all the problems we are now seeing.
The call ended when I asked whether he had been on any training courses for his present role and in which module of the course they had explained that insulting the person you were attempting to sell to was a good idea.
Still. at least it was different from the usual.

I usually tell them that my accident was so bad that my head came clean off at my shoulders, so very much like them, I’m having to talk out my Censored

When it's a female that calls, tell they sound very nice and you think they must be pretty. And they are probably dressed in something pretty and would they like to describe it.

My current record for keeping them busy is 1hr 45mins, that was Vodafone.
When in the end I was asked if I'd like to start the contract I told them Vodafone didn't work at my house so was no.use to me, they put my postcode into there area coverage search thingy and sure enough they agreed and haven't rung back since Rolling with laughter

Surprisingly, I don’t get any cold calls, haven’t for the last few years, maybe down to me simply telling them to FO when connected, exactly those words, no more, no less, maybe they took my advice. Whistle

My female representative from Stormont deals with such distractions. Her Ian Paisley rendition scares the Censored out of me. And at the flick of a switch she’s laughing. 32 years later I’ve not figured it out Shocked
