After 3yrs in a D3 and 7yrs in a D4, I will be picking up my HSE Lux from the LR dealer in Southampton on Friday. There really was no alternative that ticked all the boxes. I enjoyed a D240 Defender test ride but there are no deals to be had in stark contrast with the D5. What a that none of my kit (dog guards, mats, gun drawer) will fit so they are for sale on the forum.
I must be one of the fortunate LR Disco owners as I've had next to no issues with my D4. After 7yrs and 96k miles, it will be sad to see her go. But, ULEZ and all bills starting with £1k mean that someone else can enjoy her.

In case it's useful information for anyone else in the market for a new car, this May'19 D5 is an HSE Lux SDV6 in silver with the black pack, black leather and all the bells and whistles with 9k miles. It was up at £49,200, and I paid £48,300. It's just been serviced, and LR did a deal on the 3rd yr warranty of £849 vs the original £1k. They offered an outrageously hefty 10.9% PCP with £1500 deposit contribution or 7.9% without the cash. They paid £11k for my D4, having started at £10,500.

I've seen your car!
I was looking at the Black Landmark D5 which was next to it and was thinking that the D5 offered far better value for money than a Defender. I was offered about 9 to 10k off a new one via DTD / Carwow. But I just cant weigh up the change at the moment.

Hope it suits you and you enjoy it.
I’ve still got the 69 plate HSE Luxury loan car. I’ve done nearly 9.5k miles in it. I’d ask the dealer to download all the latest software updates, if that’s not been done. This one is riddled with glitches. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Surely the last!) PD1881 rims-GONE

That's one of the issues. Replacing two hybrids that are unbelievably reliable, costs peanuts to run and hold their money really well (and my V8 ) with an newer LR product.
That said life is too short and I can only spend so much on my dogs.
