Goodbye D5
The D5 is heading back to LR South West London next week after 3 years of impeccable service. Despite being treated by some as the John Merrick of the LR range, it was a lovely vehicle in my eyes and just like Frederick Treves, I chose to reject the negative views and give it a chance to shine. I wasn't disappointed.
I am downsizing for various reasons, no D5 Hybrid, new home, working in the city and fewer 4 legged friends. I have therefore ordered a Disco Sport HSE P300 Hybrid ...309BHP.... 540Nm ...0-60 in 6.2 ...143mpg ...all the bells and whistles. I'll let you know how I get on.

I’ve always liked the DS and more legroom for me than the FFRR, D4 or D5. Specifically I can stretch out my left leg further. Headroom is good as well. I’ve driven loads of them, but not since 2019 and all them were 2.0 Ingenium, aside from one early 2.2. That P300 hybrid will fly, it will feel like a sports car after your D5.
If you’re not using the space of the D5 anymore it makes a lot of sense. 👍
PS A bit harsh on the Elephant Man. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Surely the last!) PD1881 rims-GONE

SWMBO got a P300 Evoque a few months ago. It certainly moves when you press the loud pedal but I still prefer driving the D5.MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

Ever so slightly...
But best of luck with the new motor DG hope you enjoy it!
What's the timeline, is this an 'in-stock' one or a new order from Liverpool?Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

In stock is immediate ...but no comparable build to my desired spec ...order from Halewood is 8-12 weeks. I figured that I've done less than 1k in the last year and have access to other vehicles, so the build wait is easily manageble.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Hope so ...I had a few DS loaners during my D4 years ...the new model appears a vast improvement.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

It’s notable that your D5 has done it’s time with you without fault. The Disco Sport should be as its name suggests, a bit sporty! Good luck with everything that’s happening in your life. Look forward to seeing the sport in the not so distant future. 👍

Cracking looking LR there DG. 8)
And I’m sure (unlike the D5) we’ll be happy enough to get brainwashed as to why we all should be driving one ...... it may just work this time.
