I know where you are coming from, picked mine up Sat and whilst i went over the body work with a fine tooth comb i forget to check the the service book and it looks as though it has not had a service in 23k/ 2years and i have a engine nose that has developed, but that could be normal as i have never owned a DISCO before. They also used the same valeter as you, masses of dust. However, with mine stuck the dog in yesterday and the dust is now covered with dog hair

I am only 15 miles away from my dealer and they are already having back on monday to check the service issue and engine noise, sure stratstone will sort all these bits, but when you pay dealer prices sometimes you expect they will go that bit further.
I was a little annoyed, but drove 30 miles yesterday just to drive a very short bit of green lane and a 1ft deep ford, sad i know (trying to find more though) and i have to say, all that annoyance faded away and you cannot see below but i have the most stupid grin on my face. Take some pics of the damage and then go out and enjoy it, promise it will seem a lot less relevant.

I love my car.

Think i need to book myself some off road learning .. then head out into the open with the wifes pride and joy!07 Disco 3 HSE ... JB with EB
If you are over this way again, drop me a PM and we can do some lanes, there's a fair few open. Nothing too exciting round here - but not too shabby wither "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."
Quite low, been stuck in there previously many years ago in an old truimph spitfire. I work over that way, i am only looking for gentle laning to start with, so will let you know, thanks for the offer. My other half Paul has been spending ages looking at laning videos etc and think he is more excited about it than me. he just needs to remember whoes car it is

The point is that the dealer should have got it right!
We all know about "buyer beware" rule but when you get a car from a prestige outlet like Stratstones you expect them to go above and beyond the call of duty with their "duty of care".
We got our new Disco there on New Year's Eve - seem to remember them having a mission statement posted about how they always go the extra mile to get satisfied customers.
They were ok with us but don't think I can go back there ever again since I pointed out to the salesman that we had to travel to an impoverished part of the country to get the bargain we were looking for! He kept going on about golden triangles or something! Anyway, the vehicle is now safely in Yorkshire where a car of this quality should be!
And the Disco 3?
Truly amazing! I know what you mean about keep playing with the vehicle height controls!
Shame about the crummy satnav!engine. wheels. seats. glass windows. stuff.

right ...
so car went back today to stratstone milton keynes ...
they are now:
replacing the light switch trim
replacing the trim under the steering wheel
replacing trim on the drivers side rear window
painting the door edge on the passenger side
AND
Having a full 4x4 wheel alignment, checking the steering, brakes and suspension as even the mechanic agreed it was pulling to the left far to much.
Makes me wonder if any pre-delivery check was done.
After a bit of agro i got a freelander til they sort the disco out.07 Disco 3 HSE ... JB with EB

Stratstone Milton Keynes ... sheer incompetence.
Had a few issues with a disco 3 we bought from stratstone milton keynes - so it was dropped off to them on saturday where i went round it with a technician, had a road test etc and all the work was agreed.
Got a call yesterday saying its all ready, so took today off and set out at 8am for my 200 mile round trip.
Got there at 10 ... went to see the car - and the works only been partially done!! The main concern was that the paint on the passenger door edge looked like it had been opened against a wall ... and it still looks like that, this is after the person on the phone yesterday said 'the paint is just being finished now'. As well as this other bits of trim still need to be fised - bits that had been previously pointed out.
To say im off with these turnips is an understatement. Even the Sales Manager admitted there was no communication and noone really knew what was going on, and the salesman seems to have an issue distinguishing from elbow!
So im back home now with my courtersy base spec Freelander (no Sir we have no other cars here) and my disco is with them. So far since picking it up, they have had it far longer then i have!
On hols tomorrow for a while, so god knows when ill actually get a car which is niggle free back.
So far the only discovery ive made is that stratstone milton keynes is bloody awful.07 Disco 3 HSE ... JB with EB

Matches my experience with Stratstones in both Aylesbury & Slough.
I've had the car for over 3 months now, and I'm still waiting for issues to be sorted.
Thank I don't have to use them for servicing!Barney

I refused to take the car back from stratstone milton keynes for precisely that reason. I figured that if i did it would take a lot longer to get anything done.
This way i have one of their cars which is prob grief for them.
Did consider the 1000mile 30 day p/ex ... but theres nothing on their stocklist thats worth swapping for! Though i guess with March 1st not long away, there will be a fair few part ex's which might be possible.
Def going to hit them for some compo - petrol money and time off work money at least!!07 Disco 3 HSE ... JB with EB

Good luck with that.
All they have offered me (so far) is a valet.
My MOT is due in a few weeks, they haven't even offered to do that.Barney
