Sunday before last I forgot to shut the gate to our paddock, Courier driver (on behalf of Amazon) drove in trying to get to next door, realised he couldn't then turned round on the grass rather than the gravel roadway or parking area and bogged down, slid and knocked down a fence, retaining wall and moved a gate post. He then spent an hour trying to get out by using the fencing he'd knocked down and some of our gravel under the wheels He finally admitted defeat and knocked on the door. Cost him £500 for recovery and bill to put the damage right is approaching £2.5k All credit to Amazon who've taken control and making sure it gets sorted!

can't remember the exact stats now but I had a delivery from DPS some while back and their tracking service enabled you to check on the specific driver online and could 'see' his round. He had dozens, think it was about 70 or so, of parcels in his allotted 'day' in the Warwickshire area from south of Coventry down to Stratford-Upon-Avon and surrounding villages. His stats showed he had just under seven minutes per parcel to deliver and, knowing the area well, I thought it looked effing impossible to do
No wonder they resort to 'chucking over the fence' at times. I generally have no issue with them putting it in the enclosed car-port and such like (not had anything stolen yet mind) but you can tell the difference between the lobbed over and gate-opened and placed methods employed and some of the 'hidden' items I've had (in bin or propped against bin on end of drive on collection day ) do make you wonder what their thinking logic was at times.....

I ordered some pet food from an online place. They had an unusual incentive to spend more:
"Orders under £30 are delivered by Yodel"
"Orders over £30 are delivered by DPD"
I spend £30.01 and had the parcel delivered next-day for free by DPD who do seem to be more competent.
