LT wrote:Torque difference between 2.0 & 3.0?
Do you mean 60kg? Surely the 3.0L isn't 600kgs more than the 2.0L?
Thats the rough weight saving comparing it against the D4
D5 2.0 is 125kgs lighter than the D5 V6 ....0-60 is only 0.3 second different between the two. On a different day and in an ideal world the V6 might have prevailed... but I'm not disappointed by any stretch. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I thought after I’d posted that was probably you’d meant. Yeah, the output from the 2.0L is incredible, I’m always impressed by it when I drive a DS loaner. 👍 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I've only ever driven a 180hp 2.0 before, I think that was in an Evoque ...the 240hp is something else for such a small engine 8) 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I've settled for the 3 litre one with 20" wheels.
Having never had a vehicle with 20" wheels before I have been reading up on it and the general opinion seems to be that they do not give such a smooth ride as the 19" wheels and being that much lighter then the original D4 may appear a bit 'bouncy' too.
So in the future I shall be watching for 19" off takes as were once advertised on here quite often.
I got a set for my D4 and, including delivery, were a bargain.

Careful using D4 19" rims as there are reports that they don't fit over the rear calipers of the D5.
The D5 ride on 20"'s with road tyres is noticeably firmer than I'm used to from the D4's on 19"'s with Duratracs. Pothole derived thumps in the cabin are different to the D4 too ...weight saving and that all ali shell does transmit a higher 'tune' for sure. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Getting a Seat Mii 1.0 bog standard entry level car from a LR dealer is a discourtesy, the D5 far from it.
I spent 7 days with a LRA top of the range DS HSE Dynamic LUX, I would’ve killed to keep the dealer D5 2.0 loaner rather than spend 7 days with the awful thing they gave me. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I made the mistake of looking at the price of a 2.0 s and comparing to a 3.0se
Decided id need a HSE spec which is only 1500 more for the 3.0. I do tow a fair bit so think it would be best
Going to look for a MY2018 at end of this beginning of next year used I think.
But also started looking at XC90
But will be LR I think MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

I think the price for the D5 hs now pushed it out of what I'm prepared to pay. OK I havnt had top spec D3's or D4's (XS and SE Tech) but the same spec in D5, even with the 2 Ltr engine is over 56k
Thats about 13k more than my current D4 was.
As much as I have stayed loyal, with my first Disco being a 200TDi in 1991, this might be my last one.

Jack - I relly dont know but later this year my D4 will be 3 years old, so I will typically take a look then. I dont mind keeping it, its notthat I need to change at 3 years old, but it depend how numbers stack up.
Volvo? Skoda? - dont really want to move away from LR but may have to, as dont really want a DSport, and everything else is more expensive than a D5.
