5 for all the above too. Mine arrived last week, took it to show my mate at the weekend and ended up giving it to him and ordering myself another! Desert Storm of course 8)
Much better than the 40quid Petzl I bought about 6 months ago, and brighter too.Previously:

Yup - 5 out of 5 for everything except maybe 4½ for weight, but that would be being picky.
Desert storm colours will indeed go down a storm with my young lad when I give him the spare one I bought.
Good service from Alpkit too - nice and friendly and loads of e-mails keeping me abreast of the progress. And a hand written note in the package too. Nice to get such efficient, cheerful service these days...2001 D2 GS (I must be mad!)
2005 D3 S 10-12 (gone and missed)

My children want their own ones so I guess it is another order for me too, I got the purply one the forst time as it was all they had left but when it arrived it did look rather funky, so I am either getting trendy or turning gay
I may go for 5 cammo ones, but it seems you have to have 5 of the same colour, so I guess 1 on each leg, 1 on each arm and one on the head should make sure I am visible on the bike in the desert
Let's see what Twelvesticks makes of it as his has just arrived, he is a serious hiker so would demand only the best for his exploits in the Irish hills

Beat me to it
Anyway, re weight, you could always use rechargeable batteries that are lighter. I have a vast number of battery items that I use at home on my boat and in the motorhome, the best charger I found which I bought was a Uniross 15 minute charger, I bought 3 of these but I think they are hard to find now as they have been replaced by a smaller version, but absolutely fantastic http://www.batterylogic.co.uk/uniross-spri...103814.asp
I bought rechargeable batteries from an ebay supplier that sells them and they last for ages, easy to recharge 4 in 15 mins as well with free delivery, he sells AA's and AAA's, some offers are mixed packs so read the description carefully http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-X-4-8-NEW-DURACELL...3014wt_901

Excellent bit of kit for the money.
Seems well built and sturdy on the head. Duracell batteries are a bonus to.
Even the small lights are bright enough.
Will be visiting all the dark places now.
Think i will have to invest in more stock as this one has been claimed by the kids.

Thanks for the feedback Martin, Yes they are addictive and I have lost mine to my kids, I may just buy another 5 to get the discount and leave them scattered around, you never know when you may suddenly decide to go caving with some friends
Anyone bought a Tifoon yet? any feedback

We use their kit all the time at work, the waterproof jeans are great! Never had bad service and stuff always turns up quickly with a hand written note (they must get writers cramp!).
They sponsor a lot of the outdoor shows and various outdoor events, they are generally nice guys + gals who have resisted selling through the main names and stuck to their own brand on line only.
Good savings to be had and a positive buying experience... the only fault is that they are often out of stock on items while they await the next delivery, so if you see what you want buy it straight away!

These are brilliant. I have Alpkit and the kids some cheaper make (Gelert) with more LEDs but the Alpkit is still way brighter.

I'm going to be ordering a few myself! £5 shipping to New York. Can't beat it!
This is the type of company that I enjoy doing business with. They seem first-rate.
but it is relevant to Alpkit - they will be receiving a batch of Pipedream 600 down sleeping bags for June 1st.
So if anyone is looking for a great, warm but excellent priced sleeping bag, go online and reserve one (I got one for SWMBO a couple of years ago - she sleeps "cold" but found this lovely and toasty )The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
