I have routes that are not damaging. It only gets bad if you wander "off piste" and that is very much NOT recommended for a variety of reasons not least of which is getting your vehicle confiscated and crushed.
There are better subject matter experts than me but if you keep to the marked byeways and do not ignore the red flags, there is little to trouble a bog standard disco 3/4.D3 07 SE - still going strong
