Gents, again - many thanks for all the replies. Haven't read the thread since Thursday night and just been sat here laughin my a55 off....
Looking forward to hitting the lanes. I've done some of the 'pay and play' sites before but it's going back a few years, and in much smaller vehicles, like Suzuki SJ's and a a daihatsu 4track so it'd probably pay me to do something like that in my D3 and see what's what.
Cheers!

Rich,
Definately worth trying to do some laning with other D3 owners. For two reasons:
1 - They are going to want to damage / scratch their car as much as you, so they won't have an issue stopping and clearing lanes.
2 - If you do get stuck (which is unlikely on most green lanes) then you'll have vehicles of the same size and weight to pull you out.
I did a lot of green laning intially without any additional kit. I think recovery ropes / strops and shackles is a sensible first move.
A spade is also a sensible optional extra, so if you do get stuck you can dig it out if all else fails.
Personally I wouldn't bother with a jetboil for a days laning, but some "just in case" food and drink might be sensible as would a torch (especially this time of year)
Also waterproofs and some decent boots - wellies are useful if you're going through any deap mud.
Finally don't go out on your own.
Have fun! D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Maybe not a JetBoil but some method of providing a warming drink this time of year after spending time getting unstuck in the cold would be a good idea
