Green Oval Garage
Well, I've been meaning to do this for a while now!
Bought the discovery a couple of months back and landed straight into lots of issues. I had popped it into the Land Rover dealer in Lincoln after buying it for their free health check and had a big list of issues which was an unexpected and unwanted shock!
I'd heard about Green Oval on here over the years and contacted them for advice. Well, the response was incredible, I hate to think how long it must have taken Brian to write! It was a long and very detailed reply with all the different options and solutions for all the different issues fully broken down and explained. I have to say I've never had a response like it from an email to a company, it definitely gave me confidence in Brian and Green Oval, and for a new owner was very much appreciated someone would take the time.
I booked it in for the major issues to be done, and had frequent updates while it was in, and very patient with my queries and requests.
On picking up the vehicle Brian again took the time to explain and suggest things for the remaining issues to sort later, you could really tell his passion for the business, Land Rovers, and the customer.
I've had lots of bad experiences with garages before, but I now have complete trust for Brian, a top man and a very recommended place to go.
Will be going back early next year for the MOT, service and final issues that need sorting!

I can echo what MattTheTall77 says. I have used them for a few years, and their service has been faultless.
You can expect regular updates on how the work on your car is doing, loads of free advice, and they have a boat load of Freelander 1's as courtesy cars. Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.

They have a good reputation but is it not a bit of a hike from Lincolnshire to Leeds?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

It is a bit, but a weekly one for me for the last four years. I work in lincoln during the week, but live just off the m62 between Huddersfield and Halifax so it's not too bad from here. For the level of help and service I'd be tempted to still come even if I only lived down there

Understood!
There is also a good indy in Lincolnshire if you are ever stuck for midweek work - Famous Four in Louth.

I travel 1hr 50mins from Cartmel in Cumbria for my Freelander servicing here, I have Brian and his staff to be knowledgeable, friendly, honest and most of all reasonably priced. I was quoted over £700 for my C service on the freelander at Lakeland Landrover and for the same service £279 at Greenoval - plus I get a courtesy car
I've heard loads of great reviews from friends who have Freelanders and Discos and they have always provided me with a great service.

Sorry to hear that, mine was back for its MoT the other week and had another great experience. Emails beforehand on advice and discussing work I was looking at, phone calls on bits that needed doing while it was in (was already expecting them tbh), explanation on advisories and a good chat about plans and future work I was looking at. Brian is very trustworthy and gives proper advice as an owner and enthusiast, and if things don't need doing he says so, not like past garages that have tried to get more and more bits added to the job list. As a first time land rover owner Brian has been a huge help and reassurance.

Thank you for the support Paul and Matthew. My apologises for the poor experience Chris, if you would like to discuss further with you if possible to help us improve. If it is ok for me to give you a call please let me know and we can arrange a suitable time.

I'd just like to reiterate what many previous posters have said. Brian and his team have been very helpful, and 'touch wood' a bit of remedial maintenance should have sorted my problem. i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I wouldn't let that one bother you Brian.
He's been a forum member since Feb 13, has made his one and only post in March 15, and that's for a gripe.
Would've been more constructive to contact you first before posting a negative opinion (IMO).
