What I want to know, looking at both this and the Surrey trip that came up in related videos, is where are all the irresponsible Censored chewing up the tracks and frightening the horses? That's the public image of laning - you want to be careful you don't spoil it with all these shots of people acting sensibly on the public highway...

As to laning solo, it's a public road so presumably you just call LRA if you get into trouble... Whistle

Martin, alas they are there, but its only a few that ruin it for the many.......people we've met have seen nearly new cars and not had a problem, doubt I'd get the same response in a jacked up jimmy.....

I don't know enough about the subject having just been brave enough to try greenlaning..
i've joined GLASS and found this track on their link with google maps- I saw plenty of walkers on the track and without exception they all waved and said hello when I crawled past them- Even had two open and close a gate for me.
This was a byway which was clearly signed and was on the map which I took with me in case I either got lost or challenged.
Had a fantastic day and i'm looking for more routes..preferably with some of you guys ???

Done my time laning in the SIII and had some very odd looks (and worse). Horse riders were always the worst, which wound me up no end given the damage they do to many bridleways, to the point of making them impassable to pedestrians or cyclists. Meanwhile the foot deep (or more) ruts were OBVIOUSLY gouged by some dodgy character in a Land Rover (you know, the ones with 9" clearance under the axles) and couldn't possibly be down to the forestry Unimogs...
