Guy Salmon Stockport - 3rd service.. |
|
Just had the D4 in for 3rd service at 46500 miles. No problems to report, other than a jammed 3rd row seat that needs a revisit for a new frame, and a suspected binding brake.
I think the drive-in reception is a great idea. No more hunting for a parking space, which was a big issue at the old premises. A nice warm welcome and a cup of coffee on arrival.
Booking in was easy, and the Jag XF courtesy car was waiting.
Got an email, with an attached video shot by the technician, who showed me the brake pad thicknesses, tyre tread depths, and talked about my suspicion of a binding brake. This is a really good idea, as it takes away the ambiguity of whether your brakes are actually worn, or if they are trying a fast one! Same with tyres.
Got called in at about 5pm to collect. Easy pickup in the drive-in bay. Nice surprise when I got a discount off the quoted price. I paid £365 all in, which is no more than I have previously paid when they were at the old premises. So rumours of increased prices to pay for the new building are not founded.
Also got a nice bottle of sweets, that actually don't taste like fish eyes! Quite yummy actually!
So, 10/10
