Just had my 3 year/45K service and 1st MOT done at Guy Salmon Wakefield. £250 for service and £22.50 for MOT all inclusive of VAT. No problems with MOT. Latest software downloaded to try to cure my FBH and radio freeze faults. FBH was running on test so fingers crossed. Picked up an EGR fault as well so its going back for those replacing under warranty.
All in all an excellent service at the right price. Many thanks to Dave France and his team I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member...........

Happy to report early morning radio freeze cured. Software download must have done the trick. Wasn't cold enough for FBH to kick in so roll on next frosty morning.
Forgot to mention they put some new stuff in my diesel to clear out all the muck. Not sure what it is but Dave reckons it's LR recommended and they've all been on a course to learn all about it. Bit like Miller but it doesn't burn. Anyone any experience of it? I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member...........

They put it in mine last time too.
Can't say that I noticed any difference TBH but if it cleans the engine then all well & good.
Did they leave you any sweeties in the cubby box?

Not noticed any sweeties but I've not been in the cubby since the service. I'll have a look on my way home tonight. I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member...........

Hmmm. Perhaps they just leave them for the ladies then!
(Karen always takes the car in as she works in Wakefield).

No sweets for me either!!
Software update sees to have introduced new features. Driving home in rain tonight with wipers full on. Came off M62 and pulled up at lights and wipers went to intermittent. Set off and they came back on full. Never done that to me before.
Wonder what else I'll discover. I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member...........

Mine never did. Must have been another electrical gremlin like the freezing radio and locked FBH.
Suppose I should read the manual and check what it should do and compare that with what it actually is doing.
Having said that blokes never read the instructions first do they!! I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member...........

My FBH didn't kick in this morning at -1C so reckon it needs another look when it goes for the EGR change next week. GS have got the EGR parts quick though. Service Monday picked up the EGR fault and they phoned me yesterday to say bits had arrived and book it in for the work doing. A big to GS Wakefield (esp Rob and the service team tech folks) from me and the wife
D3 was booked in for it's 3rd birthday and MOT, ready for our Southern France journey, MOT points were:
1. Front wiper blades
2. ball joints at front (will get proper details later)
Fitted blades, and ordered ball joints (these done under warranty) which were fitted yesterday.
Had car washed twice within 4 days lol, loan car on both occasions (FL2 HSE is a nippy little , and an 09 D3)
Cost was £309 inc parts, labour, MOT & VAT (£281 inc VAT for service & MOT, with rest cost for wipers)
Keep up the good work
