Handbrake shoes sticking on |
|
Hi All
I find that the handbrake sticks on when the vehicle is not used for a few days. If it's been wet or after washing.
The mechanism operates OK and the warning light goes off. To release it I slowly drive forward or backwards and it releases. Is this a simple maintenance problem eg remove discs and clean up handbrake shoes etc.
Thanks Roger

Think of it as a feature I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

There's a PDF in my gallery on the removal of rear brake pads and adjustment of the EPB. The EPB shoes probably could do with some copperslip where the shoes make contact with the backplate. Bodsys Brake Bible

hi all, when you strip park bake down please check the cable ends, after removing the shoesundo the 19mm plastic nut which holds the cable in the backplate and inspect the little white plastic shroud and make sure that the cable moves freely through it. also see thepost about the bedding in procedure. hope this helps, Richh.
