2007 TDV6 D3
I don't use the handbrake much, but the other half is driving and just pulled the button to engage it and nothing. It doesn't seem to be reacting to the switch.
Any ideas what could cause this?
At least it's not jammed on!

Just to add, no warning lights on or anything. And the dash lights all do what they should at startup.

The pads are on the list when I get a moment. Would low pads (on the valiper, not the handbrake shoes) cause this? I will adjust the brake shoes while I am there.

Does the brake sound like it's activating? If not, maybe the fuse has blown. Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

If you can't hear anything at all when operating it then it may be the switch, they have been known to fail on occasion. Stu

No, nothing at all so i suspect you are right. I havent had chance to check yet as I am away. At least if it cant activate, it shouldnt get stuck on!!

Ah - do they. Is it possible to short across terminals to mimic the switch to test this before buying a new one (havent looked at prices yet).
