Hard reset start stop query |

I need to do a hard reset on the car my14 with start stop do i need to disconnect the start stop battery ..before shorting the main battery leads? MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car
MY10 HSE D4 auto
MY14 XXV more buttons than the spaceshuttle

ok … I'll start by saying I don't have start/stop and really don't know BUT understand your worry here . If - as you think - the batteries are connected enough you will be shorting out the secondary battery, then it would be dangerous to do so.
You could test for this by pulling the leads from the main battery and connecting a bulb between them. If it lights and stays lit strongly, then I'd say disconnecting secondary battery is essential. If not … your call but I'd suggest probably better safe than sorry and disconnect anyway. .

No need to disconnect the start / stop battery
Just short the main battery leads 👍 (disconnect from the battery obviously) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Or use an Iid tool if you have access to one, doesn't need to be registered to the vehicle. It can when others can't,
