Hawkeye Diagnostic Tool - Unlock Codes for Model BA 5070/1 |
|
Hi,
I have a Hawkeye diagnostic unit, Model BA 5070/1, I use on the FFRR, and when I bought it, there was an additional activation code supplied with it so I could add another LR product in the future.
Fast fwd a few years and I get the D3. Go to enter the code and activate it for the old girl, and find that the slip of paper they sent through , has the first digit cut off in error.
Okay, so its a simple case of trying every letter of the alphabet as the missing first character , or 0-9 if that doesn't work. Sounds simple, right.
But if any of you have ever entered one of these codes, its a b@llache as it its five groups of 5 characters. Mind numbing.
I contacted Bearmach and they say they no longer support that product and were not interested in giving me a code, or researching what the code was that I was given.
Anyone know another way to buy codes for these at all, as I also want to unlock it for my Defender.
Don't see the need to go and buy the IID just yet, when I have the hawkeye in hand already.
May just need to sit down one day and go through every first digit option if no other avenue to follow up on, but still scuppers any plan to unlock it for the Defender.
Cheers in advance.

Hi, did you have any luck with the Hawkeye code ?
I’m in the same position as you. Bear Mack just want to sell you a new unit. My Rescue vehicle is a Hilux 🤪

I bought a new Hawkeye a few years ago for my Disco 2, as they said it could be upgraded to read D3 codes by purchasing a new code.... great I thought.....wrong !!
When I got my D3 I contacted them to get a new unlock code... sorry we don't support that any more you need to buy a new reader..... thanks....
Sold it and got an iid tool instead 2005 TDV6 SE Auto

Well I'm in the same league but my case is sadder. I bought hawkeye new in 2013 because I was going to get a P38. Si i bought the tool plus 1 additional unlocking card. I had the tool configured for P38 (to read faults of the vehicles tested prior to purchase).
The additional card to get one unlocking code was not used because at that time I was considering a fleet reduction (D3 or D2).
End of the story: P38 was not bought, D2 and D3 were kept and the code for getting one unlock code was useless because you can't input the card code in the Hawkeye,
The card code entitles you to get an unlocking code from Omitec, whom you must (or had to, better speaking in past) supply serial no of device and LR model. Then you were given by phone or email the unlocking code.
Before Bearmach folded I wrote to Continental and to VDO , who were the ones who took over Omitec, but got nothing in exchange.
So unless some 8 year old computer freak cracks it out we are done.
Best regards Regards, Robert
