Haynes manual

I know that we have to take the Haynes manuals with some caution but as I have been working on my own cars for a loooong time before the internet I always tend to buy a manual as it tended to be the only available source for mere plebs.

Haynes own web site has an offer for both the digital and printed manual for an extra £5 over the price of the latter so I bought it.

The digital has far better photographs, in colour and more of them as they have include most if not all of the photos taken during any particular task. There is some rudimentary protection for the images but the odd one can be saved to be printed if required.

When I get the printed book I will scan a photo and compare it with the on line version.

I've always had a Haynes for each car too. They seem to less useful now than the 80's versions, but still have some useful info. I didn't know they did online versions, that's really good to know. I just had a look at the web site.

Mine stays in the D3 permanently. Quick reference for torque settings, etc and as sad as I am, I quite enjoy flicking through it randomly with no purpose!

I wasn't sure about the internet version as it may not always be available but for an extra £5 for both it was a bit of a no brainer.

The X-Type manual said it only had a limited wiring diagram for the essentials as modern vehicles had such complex wiring it would take up 1/2 the book.

All well and good until the circuit you are working is one of the ones not included Censored

Hi,

I bought JDB's old Haynes a few weeks back "as you never know"
and have used it twice for reference already Laughing
it is easier to have a quick look through rather than Search the forum to confirm next step.
