Headlamps and indicators misting up from inside
Does anyone have the problem with there headlamps whereby they mist up from inside of the lamp.
This occurs on both of front lamps.
Is this normal?

Take them off, take the back covers off and stick them on the radiator overnight. Been an issue since Adam was a lad, well since the first D3s anyway.

Blow them out with a hair dryer this can be an MOT failureIt can when others can't,

I always understood this was nothing to be concerned about ....... most cars do this don't they? My Land Cruisers did it (going back to 1999), my wifes Auris does it and I think my MY16 Discovery does it....2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

It is caused by moisture, moisture should not be able to get into the lamps, take it back and they will replace the lamps without argument It can when others can't,

No experienced it on my D3 but had on previous Audi, I ended up putting a couple of silica gell sachets inside the headlamps and then blasting with hair-drier.
Obviously much easier to remove disco headlamps and put on radiator like Del says, they shouldn't be misting like this though so warranty issue I believe

Therefore shouldn't be a problem w r t MOT??

Unlike normal halogens the hids dont burn no where near as hot so may take an age to clear on their own.
Most headlamps have breathers built in, so if air can get out moisture can get in.

So is it best to make sure they're completely sealed, or make holes in them so they can breathe?

My halogens did it as well.
