Headlight/Sidelights bulbs keep popping, grrr!

Ive spent about £80 in the last 2 months on bulbs, first the driver dip bulb went, then the passenger sidelight, then the passenger dip and now the driver sidelight has gone.

What could be causing this systematic illumination meltdown!?

Oil on the bulbs, poor fitting, cheap bulbs are very common failure reasons

It could then be something more sinister but start with the simple ones.

They aren't genuine LR bulbs, if there even is such a thing. I'd be very surprised to find out they make their own and don't use the usual Philips/Osram/Ring brands etc.

Thanks for that, do they look a really bright white a la cool white or are they more akin to the OEM warm white in colour?

There was a post about this once before and some one had the same issue. Their dealer found that the settings were set to Xenon in the car CCF, Dealer changed it back to normal halogen bulbs and he has had no more blown head light bulbs.

I'll bet a fiver that you've got Xenon's enabled in your CCF file.....I had the same problem expense on mine! 2 solutions.....get somebody with a faultmate to 'turn off' the xenon feature or bu a set of xenon headlamps - the latter is more expensive but a lot better solution Very Happy

I'll get it plugged in and checked. I don't like the look of those LED jobs, they remind me of those clowns that install HID kits into Astra's and Civics that go around blinding everyone.
