Heated seats "activation"?

Newbie here... Go easy.

Just got an as new Discovery 4 SE with leather upgrade.

I've read a few posts elsewhere that say if you have leather upgrade the heating elements are already installed in the seats, but are simply not wired up unless chosen as a factory option.

I understand that new switches would have to be installed and some extra bits here and there?

Alternatively, I'm happy to just have switches installed in the seat base similar to some of the retrofit options that are available on the market.

Can this be done? I'm Looking for a specialist in East Midlands area who can do this for me - already contacted a couple of places but they don't seem to want to do the work.

Any help and advice appreciated...

Thanks for your advice - I spent quite a long time searching through posts and didn't really find a solution. I know it's a bug bear of established forum members when newbie's come along asking questions and don't bother searching posts. I'm on forums for a lot of other interests and I know how annoying it can be.

I have searched "Heated Seats" and gone back to 2010 so far, but a lot of the posts relate to D3 and some posts in relation to D4 seem to be left unanswered or are simply not relevant to my situation.

I found a couple of D3 posts that although quite technical explained about the wiring looms and what to look for, so I guess I could start with that and determine if have the heating pads in the first place. And then there's this re-programming the 'CCF' thing which I will definitely need an expert for, but what about the warranty issues - some posts say that it might invalidate it.

The main point of my post was that I'd like to try find a suitable specialist to do the work as I'm not confident doing it myself - and several of the local Land Rover specialists in Derbyshire/Staffordshire just don't seem interested or won't respond to any of my enquires for help. So I was hoping someone might know of a specialist?

Thanks.

I enabled some heated seats on a 14MY not log back but I'm sure he had swapped the seats for different ones .

So they can be enabled .. But I couldn't tell you if the heat pads are standard
