Help - Dashboard Like Christmas Tree.

Hi all,

got call from my brother last night. saying that his disco had taken ages to start and once it started the dashboard lit up with HDC fault coming up on dash display and abs and hdc lights all illuminating. also said the suspension lowered. anybody any thoughts on this?? possible causes or faults..

also he's waiting to be called to get brake and fuel pump recalls done so problem could well be lying there..

it could be any number of things. HDC tends to be one of the first messages to appear when anything goes wrong.

If the battery is fully charged, then best to get the Fault Codes read..

Yup, I agree. I had exactly the same problem. A new battery solved it.

Did he have the engine bay recently cleaned/washed?

While enquiring with a local specialist, he did mention that based on his experience (two RRs and a D3), he wouldn't recommend traditional steam cleaning but rather a handwash with little water involved - apparently all 3 LR they did lit up like x-mas trees shortly after the engine clean.... which corroborates PaulP's point I guess...
