Help Day time running lights.
Picked my D4 xs up today but cant get the day time running lights on. Looked in hand book which says lights need to be in off position, in gear and park brake off but no lights. Does this mean a trip back to stealer already for them to be enabled.

Mine don't work that way either - but is it because its only on the export models?

I would check to see if they are fitted,by removing your headlamp and having a look behind the rubber grommet i think depending on your build date was whether you got or not ! Initially they were only fitted with the xenon headlamps but now seem to be coming through on the halogen version as well but me thinks it depends on your build date..
Like i said pop an headlamp out easy to do and have a glimpse inside you can soon see if the led's are fitted or not. MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

are you refering to the "fairy" light LEDs - I think they are only only the HSE - they come on auto on my HSEDuncan

Goffie here are the part numbers for D4 halogen headlights with LED signature lights, Perhaps you couild save yourself taking em out and just compare these part numbers.

The LED "fairy lights" are not DRLs - they are just sidelights and will come on with the light switch in the 1st position or with the auto lights when it is dark enough.
I believe that they have now started fitting the LEDs to the halogen headlamps too, but they are still not DRLs.
DRLs (when activated) just use the dipped beam headlamps - not the sidelights/LEDs. There's quite a bit of info on here regarding this
Saying this, I know that LR released (nearly a year ago) a wiring modification for the D4 to allow the sidelights to be on with the engine running, but this was not a recall or anything and the customer had to pay for the labour costs if they wanted the sidelights to work like this.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

I thought it was all new cars and small vans purchased after February 2011 had to have daytime running lights, and lorries and buses will follow suit from August 2012.

Just been informed by stealer that DRL become standard in Uk late 2012.

Although it's possible that yours, being a MY11, should probably have the LEDs fitted to your halogen headlamps, if you can't see them when you turn on your sidelights, then they are not fitted
You can enable the daytime running lights feature with IDS, Faultmate and I'm 99% certain with Autologic too, but they have nothing to do with the LED "fairy lights" and use the dipped beam headlamps.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
