Help me fix my suspension fault

My 2006 LR3 HSE has had a reoccuring yellow suspension fault warning. It happens about every 5th drive and a shut down and restart always clears the fault light. When the warning comes up there seems to be no driveability issues. If I let the vehicle sit overnight there doesn't seem to be any settling other than the usual self leveling hisses.

After reading endless threads I understand that my problem could be an air leak where the lines come into the compressor and/or valve blocks or a leaking or malfunctioning (leaking)dryer. My plan is to take the cover off and as the compressor is running spary the line areas with a soapy solution if no leaks are found then my problem is probably an exhaust valve and spring?

Is this hard to replace? Should I just bite the bullet and take it to LR dealer (Ifear them throwing parts at the problem and a huge bill).

Any other ideas or actions? I am coming off my successful replacement of the inner and outer tie rods so I am feeling confident at the moment.

Eric

From what you are describing it doesn't sound like a leak, or wouldn't it settle overnight or every drive. I would have thought it is more likely to be a black box, sensor or wiring problem, but then that's just a guess. May help if you could see if there was a fault code lurking about.

Check that the wiring against the chassis behind the left front wheel hasn't been chaffed by the tyre.

Thanks for the tips. I will check and clean each sensor to see if that solves the light. If not I will remove the compressor cover and spray some soapy water and look for connection leaks.

Will report back.

How quickly does the car go up and down when you change height. I have had this twice now and it has been the compressor failing. Eventually it stops altogether.

Goes up and down at a good clip. Compressor runs for about 30 seconds and then shuts off. The tip about the wires chaffing on the left front tire was spot on. The zip tie holding the wies had broken and they were swinging around a bit. There was some rub marks but the plastic protector had not been worn through.
