HELP NEEDED: PASSENGER DOOR LOCKED AND CANT BE OPENED......

Hi all, i need help here. This afternoon i got out of the Disco 3 and locked the car in the usual way. I have since returned to the car and unlocked as normal - everything is unlocking and locking apart from the passenger door.

The door simply wont open not with the remote, not with the handle not even with the key from the outside by taking off the key cover emergency unlock thingy....

Has anyone had this happen to them - is there a quick fix for this.

Thanks in advance....

Dazzahooz.

It happens no quick fix have to replace lock mechanism. To get the door open try, pressing the unlock button on the dash at the same time have someone try-open the door from the outside, repeat as required sometimes it opens sometimes not. Have the engine running might just give the lock the extra voltage to wake the lock up.

Back to the door jamming situation.... Is this something that needs to be done by a Land Rover specific dealer?

This "feature" suddenly appeared on the O/S/R door of my 07. Dealer staff fiddled with it with no luck, so booked for a warranty replacement lock a week later. By then it was working again, but they changed the lock anyway as it is a known problem.

So what happens if all four do it at same time - and one is inside? Whistle

I had this exact problem last december, i managed to get it open by pressing the remote control unlock and the in car (padlock) button together - it took a few times. since then it did it again once about a week later but has not happened again since - so i wouldnt waste any money paying for a dealer to do it if there is a chance that it may be very very intermittant.

Oddly enough, this has just happened to me.... It stopped working for about 4 days and then all of a sudden has corrected itself, so no cost and a less upset wife.... Thanks for your response.

I had the same problem for about five months and I used the same system to open the door as stated above, but used the inside latch/s instead of the outside. I was not prepared to spend the money at the dealer as we rarely used the back seats.

All of a sudden after five months it corrected itself and I have had no problems for the last three months
