Help, Park brake loud noise and fault...

When I apply the parking brake, a loud noise screeches from the rear of the vehicle. Dealer took 7 hours to replace the brake, yet it still does it and they don't know why.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yep, you will always have a slight noise if you listen as the brakes are applied and press on. Your car sysptoms sound as if there is something out of alignment. Is the noise louder one side than the other or equal both sides?

7 Hours! wow. What all did they replace?

When my guys replaced my rear EPB shoes they ordered the pads only to find out they get sent as individual pads and not a 'set'. Another night in the shop to get another one sent in. DOH!

They figured it out. It was just an adjustment. Now I can go wheelin' with a working parking brake! They also said they removed about 300lbs of rocks, dirt and gravel, so I might even get better performance!

Yes. What it was doing was making an aweful loud grinding/screetching noise on the left side of the rear of the truck.

i will post the exact explanation for the adjustment that they did once I hear it again.

jzk, looked at a Mandaley at the weekend. It's a very nice rig. It is tempting, but with fuel prices going stupid here, many places are around 3.40$ a US gall here or £4.10 a UK gall. Just makes it non viable at the moment. Could go up to £1 per litre soon 3.80$ a US gall.

I didn't know Mandalay's made it over there.

I bought my 2004 with 4000 miles for 150k, which is about the least you can spend for a quality diesel pusher. That kind of a rig takes a while to get all of the bugs out, so you must have a competent dealer.

The one I saw was about £160,000, diesel pusher LHD, but it was new and great. My partner loved it, but she won't drive our little German one let alone a Mandalay. I didn't negotiate, because I would have been too tempted. Have to be realistic in the UK at the moment. Dealers here are quite good, been going since 1972, bought my first Winnie from them. What a beast, about 4 mpg phew! At the moment I will dream.

Ya know, I had a notion that might be the case!
