Help required - about to buy a d3 but..........

Hi

Looking at buying a D3 from a private seller. Have been to see the car and everything checked out.

Once I got home tonight, I checked the MOT history of the car online and it has come up with the following advisory faults from its last test 31/8/10 -

- Nearside Front suspension has slight play in a lower suspension ball joint
- Offside Front suspension has slight play in a lower suspension ball joint
- Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement
- Nearside Front Upper Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement
- Offside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement
- Offside Front Upper Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement
- Offside Rear Upper Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement

Would anyone be able to give me an idea as to how much this would cost to sort at an independent garage?

I would be looking for discount to repair or for seller to rectify in advance of me buying.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Ross

England

front lower wishbones complete are about £130 per side with new bolts and not a hard job to do not to sure about the rears.

All parts from TLO aka (The Large One) Thumbs Up

ps i,ve just done both lower arms, steering rack ends & track rod ends cost £340 and took about 1 1/2 hours a side with coffee breaks Whistle and dont forget 4 wheel aligment after, proberly another £100 to get done properly.

no serious stuff, and as said easy to replace. Ive not had my front done yet but the part to completely replace the rear bushes and upper complete arms was about £250 from TheLargeOne Thumbs Up (parts only)

while its all in bits its worth changing the half shaft / diff seals - costs about £6 per seal

Thanks for the replies guys

What about the suspension ball joints, are these an easy fix?

If you were to get the lot repaired by a professional, do you think it would be done for less than £500?
