I think its fuse 11 in the fuse box but they are a to get out from what I've read.
Quote:
Its easy to get the spare fuses out of their holders, so long as you have a head torch to see what you are doing, and a pair of very long nosed pliers. Forget the fuse tool thing its a waste of time.
I've just done mine and whilst I'd agree that a torch is useful - if you can't get a third hand or a head torch, a mini-maglite held in the teeth is my preferred alternative - the plastic pincers worked ok for me, as I thought I was more likely to drop the fuse than the pincer and fuse combo.
Given the number of posts on the topic, it looks like a good area for LR review on the D3 mkII - just hope it's not 2009 with the FBH...Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

please,
where is the fuse box
which of the fuses controls the screen washers - and is it one for front and back
Fuse 11, 10amp red, to get at the spare at the bottom though. The fuse box is behind the glove box. You need to empty it first ( I didn't and the lot dropped on the muddy floor .. dohh) With both hands, feel each side of the open glove box for the supporting struts, and give them a pinch to release them. The glove box will now drop revealing the fuse panel bolted to the inards inside. If you are in a rush prob better to buy some spares in a box....
Same fuse for front and back washers..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

Grrrrrrr! My bloomin' washer fuse has gone now!
Honestly it's all well and good designing this beast that can go over/through anything and then put electrics in that are worse than a Fiat punto! It was 6 degrees out when my washers stopped.
I can't get the knack of lowering the glove box to get at the fuse box.
DO you squeeze the box itself or the little arc shaped guides? If its the guides do you squeeze them inwards, towards the centre of the glovebox, or do you "pinch" them to make them narrower?
BTW: It looks like we have surfaced a common issue with this circuit.

Thanks Lee. I got into the fuse box, saw which fuse needed changing and gave up. You can't get to the damn thing. Nice bit of design there folks. Not only is the box buried a long way back, requiring long nosed pliers, but there's a big chunk of wiring loom in the way. Sod it. I get the bloomin' dealer to change it.

BTW: Someone (Simon?) mentioned a "fuse tool". Where's that kept then?
I haven't gone looking for tools. After all LRs don't go wrong - do they.

They're just above the fuses behind the glove box - Here's a snap:

This is obviously a weak spot. If you can't be bothered to fiddle around, and you have got the time to wait, call LR Assist and let them skin their knuckles.
Maybe Martin you should put this one in the Issues List?

Handy tip.
Looks like fuse 11 will be a common thing.
Armed with spares in a box, attach some "robust" cotton to the fuse in such a way that you can remove the fuse by pulling the string. You can insert the new fuse by hand without pliers.. ( with a torch in the gob .. )..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........
