Help with Fitting my Tracking Device

Guys,

A little help please, does anyone know the best cable route from the battery under the bonnet to the interior of my D3?

Thanks in Anticipation

hello Brian,

There's useful information here with pictures (courtesy of the Webasto heater mod documented by stapldm).

Pages 13-16 show getting a cable from the engine compartment through to the interior.

Hope this helps,
Rob.

Hi
You dont connect a tracking device to your battery as thieves would just go under the bonnet and cut the wires, tracking system would then not work you should find another point in the vehicle that provides the 12 volt feeds ignition and earth points and remember if you have a GPS ariel for your unit it can only see through glass and plastic not metal so position the ariel carefully
I hope this helps
cheers

Gringle & Mike,

Thanks both for your help Guys - I'll take both of your advise on board!

Route the cabling from battery under bonnet to the "H" Panel in dash & put the Tracker hidden in there.....

That way both the GPS/GSM aerials will only "see" through Glass or Plastic Thumbs Up

Brian,

That's not the best place for it, I'll PM you with where the pro guys would install a Tracker in a D3.
