Hesitation with MY12 8speed

Wolfpack,

My values are Strategy CX23-7J104-AD and Calibration CH22-7J105-CE for the transmission and I'm informed by GAP that I'm up to date. What are your values? D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
D4 2012 SDV6 XS - Stolen

Err....forgot to ask for a print out from dealer. In fairness it was 11:57 today ....and they were rushing me to close at 12:00 for Christmas.


Just adding another couple of points raised earlier on this thread and discussed with the dealer today...the learning of the software.

One of the thoughts the dealer had was that my car had learnt a more modest, less dynamic mode of driving either from the previous owner or even from myself while I was feeling my way with a new to me car and make!

This notion was reinforced in his view when I said that I had towed a caravan for a couple of thousand miles since the last service....viz sedate, slow acceleration.

If there is some truth in the car learning driving style ( and I have no reason to doubt that) then it begs the question whether people who tow caravans 'confuse' or mislead the learning process such that normal driving suffers???? That being the case...how long does it take to revert or does it need another reset????

Just checked the values on my 12MY while I had the IID up and running:

My values are Strategy CX23-7J104-AD and Calibration CH22-7J105-CD. Has always felt a wee bit hesitant since I purchased in Oct, but not so it bothers me unduly. Looks like I might be one behind the latest calibration update. If I want to update I need to contact Gap and do it through the IID?

The gearbox has an adaptive shift strategy which learns patterns of a driving style in a basic manner but this would quickly turnover from a previous driver to your style within a few hundred miles. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I checked with GAP and was told that I had the most up to date software for my transmission. Same values as you Darryl... D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
D4 2012 SDV6 XS - Stolen

Got the dreaded hesitation today. Had to slow fairly quickly for a cyclist doing 5mph uphill, saw a gap and using a normal amount of throttle for an overtake the car hesitated for about a second making the overtake a tad more interesting when it finally decided to get going. I don't get the problem if I've been stopped at a junction for a few seconds, just when there's an instant change from stop to go.

Surely Robbie's "TB " calibration suggests a more up to date setting than those of us with "CD" or "CE".? Confused

I don't know what recalibration setting was used on my vehicle or whether the replaced brake sensor was the real reason for my vehicles hesitation, but I have to say the car is much better now. I have done a couple of manoeuvres that required a quick response from the throttle after braking...and it didn't hesitate.

Great to hear there is a fix Wolfpack. I think I'll ask Gap about the latest calibration settings before going any further. D4 GS 12MY

Had this hesitation issue on mine since purchase some 3 months ago, and as mention earlier in this thread by others it made for some “interesting” situations when trying to merge into the morning rush-hour traffic.
So spring is in the air and the car was booked into the shop to have the summer wheels installed anyway so I asked if they could check the transmission software was up to at least the same level as the screen shot provided by Robbie. Got it back later that day and wow it’s like the accelerator pedal is now actually connected to the engine. The report that came with the invoice only tells me that both the transmission strategy and calibration software have been upgraded to the latest available revision. I’m afraid it didn’t give any specifics regarding the dash numbers of the software to pass on to you all and I have no means of interrogating the system myself at present. No mention of anything to do with the brakes or associated switches either. Just very pleased they managed to hit the nail on the head first visit and I didn’t get the run around some others seem to be experiencing.
