Easiest way out is to watch and wait.A secondhand set of proper OE Xenons will set you back about 300 quid , some have been sourced cheaper.Phone a few breakers yards , you never know your luck.Nick Lee @ Yeovil Land Rover will give you the cheapest deal on a set of new ones if you have the cash to spend or if you can't wait .
Stay away from those kits , all I've heard are horror stories about them.Just my opinion , good luck

It certainly stopped me in my tracks. Someone has recommened the Philipps Extreme Power halogen bulbs to to me, they are apparently 80% brighter then the standard ones:

I'm tempted as the £60 outlay is quite a bit less than the £700 or it'll cost to buy the genuine Xenon units, but I'll probably wait until next winter.

Agree about headlamps but often wondered about the fog lamps

Iv'e got a pair of those bulbs sitting here ready to go in the high beams after reading I think it was ND's praise for them. Must dooooo it!
If they do what they say I shall put them in the LR driving lamps as they seem to do very little if you have Xenon headlamps already fitted. I have HID spots on the rack which are excellent, but silly money. Had I not had a deal they would not be there.... Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

I went through 3 sets of the Osram Nightbreakers in 3 weeks - both bulbs blowing at the same time. Each set was replaced foc, supplied said the Discovery 3's higher charging voltage was causingthe problem - they had had a lot more returned to them. They suggested the Phillips Extreme as an alternative - these have been in since before Chrstmas. To me they are better than standard bulbs but not as bright as the Osrams were.
If anyone can shed any light ( no pun intended) on the charging / 14v issue, I'd be intrested.

Yarp, I've got the Philips Xtreme +80% in the main beam and they work very well alongside the xenons I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I have put a pair of the Philips Extreme H4 bulbs in the 300TDi Discovery and they seem very good.
Bought them from www.autobulbsonline.co.uk. They were slightly cheaper than the other outfit. Arrived next day. Friendly service.
May put a pair of H7s in the D3 later.
